Connecting books, people and resources
The Brookwood Library opened at its current location in 2007 and was expanded in 2013. The library offers a large menu of services.
Each of the 16 WCCLS libraries are individually governed – by either a city, Washington County, or a nonprofit board. The Hillsboro library is a city library.
Reserve a study or a conference room
Free study and conference rooms are available to reserve. Walk-ins are accepted if rooms are available. The two conference rooms are equipped with video conferencing equipment including a computer and webcam. Meeting rooms must be reserved in advance and may require a rental fee.
Hillsboro Shute Park Library
Make the Library your classroom and get creative with the basic laws of the universe. Explore quick lessons, crafts, and experiments about science, art, and everything else. All ages welcome!

Join us as we sing, rhyme, share simple stories, and enjoy movement activities in this storytime, specially designed for new walkers and their grownups. Includes unstructured playtime.

Stories, songs, finger plays, and plenty of group participation in 20-minute sessions, followed by playtime and an opportunity for adults to socialize. For ages 24-36 months.

This class focuses on basic grammar, reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for those who have basic reading and writing skills in their first language.
