Celebrate Oregon’s 150th birthday and Oregon Reads Lawson Inada. Mr. Inada will conduct a writer’s workshop focusing on poetry, a discussion on the writing process and how to be an effective writer.

Julie Nakao & Masae Wright will share the Japanese theory of flower arranging—known as ikebana—it holds the philosophy that flowers brighten, color, and give life to our environment. The traditional tea ceremony is an elegant and simple practice incorporating many of the arts of Japan.
