An afternoon of Big Band swing music by the Minidoka Swing Band, a taste of Japanese desserts and a viewing of the Oregon Nikkei Legacy Center exhibit, Window on a Community: Nikkei Farmers of the Hood River Area. Chautauqua Lecture: True Stories & Other Fictions in Northwest Oral History

Where does history end and folklore begin? Author and professor Tom Nash looks at the elements of folklore embedded in supposedly nonfiction stories of frontier Oregon and the West. The Tigard Historical Association joins the Tigard Library to present this program, funded by the Oregon Council for the Humanities.
