Provides 330,000 full length biographies on more than 220,000 people. Artists, religious leaders, newsmakers and scientists are among the biographies found in this service. Requires Washington County Library card.

Contemporary Authors

Information on current writers, as well as the most-studied literary figures of the early 20th century, and authors from around the world are featured in this comprehensive resource. Available for use in the Beaverton City Library.

Contemporary Literary Criticism Select

Find timely, critical analyses of key literary works authored by more than 600 novelists, poets, short story writers, playwrights, and other creative writers. Users can access biographical and critical introductions to major and new authors, find full-text criticism of major literary works, and target sources for further research. Requires Washington County Library card.

Library2Go

Library2Go provides downloadable audio books for library patronsÂ’ personal computers and MP3 players. Popular books are available 24/7 and are playable on a PC or MP3 player. There is no need to return items and no late fees. Library2Go is free for all Washington County Cooperative Library Services cardholders.

You need a valid WCCLS library card in good standing, access to the Internet and free digital book software (available on the Library2Go page accessed through the WCCLS website). Library2Go is a service provided by the Washington County Cooperative Library Services (WCCLS) and the Oregon Digital Library Consortium. Many public libraries cooperated to create the Oregon Digital Library Consortium, sharing costs and pooling resources in order to better serve their patrons.

Covering 15-20 works per volume, this reference series gives high-school and undergraduate students an ideal starting point for class assignments, term papers, and special projects. NoveList Plus

Helps fiction and nonfiction readers find new authors or titles. Describe a book and get suggestions of titles to read. Find book reviews, information to use in book discussions, and lists of award-winning books. Requires Washington County Library card.

U*X*L Encyclopedia of World Mythology

Entry topics include gods and goddesses; heroes and other key characters; motifs and global themes; major myths; and national or cultural mythologies. Coverage spans a diversity of cultures, including standard Greek/Roman entries as well as Native North and South American traditions, Norse mythology, Asian Pacific mythology, Judeo-Christian tradition, and Islamic and Hindu mythologies. An international catalog of books, web resources, and other material catalogued by libraries worldwide. Consists of over 41 million bibliographic records.
