Exploring My Five Senses

Little ones (ages 0-5 years) and their responsible adults are invited to drop in and spend some time exploring their five senses. Age-appropriate activities will allow children to investigate sight, sound, smell, touch and taste.

Mother Daughter Book Club

Share a novel with a special woman in your life. Grades 3–5.

International Storytime in Japanese

Families learning Japanese enjoy stories and heritage.

Don’t Bug Me, I’m Reading

Telling Tales with author Eric Kimmel

Get a “behind the scenes” view of what goes into creating a story, including recent titles and the next Anansi. Grades K–6.

Captain Abdul’s Pirate Preschool

We’ll be singin’, craftin’, sharin’ pirate tales and eatin’ a bit o’ grub as we spend the morning playin’ pirates together! Pirate attire encouraged. An adult must accompany their pre-school mates and be present for entire program. For ages 3-5. Preregistration required. Learn the art of building your own zines. For grades 6–12.

Watermelon Feed & Seed Spittin’ Contest

Our annual summer reading finale tradition with free watermelon and a seed spitting contest for all ages.

Take-it-Apart

Non-working electronic devices will be provided for participants to dissect and inspect. For ages 6–11. Registration required.

Beaverton Modular Railroad Display

Local club members will have a model on display, be available for questions and hobby information. For all ages.

Family Game Time

Cool off from the summer heat in the library! Parents and kids play table games together. For ages 5–10 with an adult.

Anne of Green Gables Party

Kindred spirits will gather to celebrate these wonderful books by L. M. Montgomery. Come join us for crafts, games and activities about Anne and her adventures.
