Library Opportunities
The City of Tualatin has many short-term and on-going projects, many of which lend themselves to service groups. Short-term opportunities change and are updated on a monthly basis. They are mostly comprised of one-time service projects that have a specific date and time for completion. These range from helping with a library program to participating in a library-cleaning event.
On-going projects are those that may be scheduled at anytime, developed with a particular group, or are meant for people who plan to help for a longer period of time. These include, but are not limited to:
- Shelving
- Shelf Reading
- Materials Repair
- Holds Processing
- Technical Services Assistance
- Special Group Projects
Teen Summer Opportunities
Teens, are you looking for something to do this summer? Do you want to gain valuable work experience, make new friends, give back to your community, or just learn about how your city works? If so, please consider volunteering with City of Tualatin. We have a number of exciting opportunities to help you keep busy over the summer break:
TOP Teens: Training & Opportunity Program
The Tualatin Public Library would like to extend a warm welcome to teens in the library. TOP Teens is a program offered throughout the summer months, which provides youth with a structured service opportunity. It is designed to model a work environment, providing specific training, enhancing communication skills, and offering the opportunity to enhance a resume or earn a letter of reference. Teens work directly with the Library Volunteer Specialist and staff at least two hours per week, completing tasks that may include: shelving, shelf reading, processing materials, cleaning media materials, and much more.
